This month Bright Lights Kids are gearing up for "SMART" Goals. SMART Goals are goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. The children and their mentors took time this month to clearly define a SMART Goal for 2019.
A few of the children's goals and ambitions are:
To graduate from 8th grade
To read two books
To teach my brother to learn
To pass the basketball
To become a marine
To find an apartment
During the most recent Bright Lights Kids mentor gathering, the team discussed staying mindful of how Lower Lights Ministries holistic programming focuses on the whole person. Both aspects of tutoring and mentoring collectively are impactful. Children spend time with both volunteer tutor and mentor weekly during the school year.
Please celebrate and cheer on these young people as they reach for their SMART goals beginning in February through the school year.
